Walking on the bosphorus waterfront, Üsküdar

Took a walk on the Anatolian waterfront of the bosphorus strait on an early fall weekend. We started in Üsküdar port and walked up to Kandilli. Along the way there are two cafes, one in Kuzguncuk and one in Çengelköy, that take their name from the plane trees they sit under. This photo is of the ancient and very tired looking plane tree, whose shade is a welcoming place for rest. But of course, on a weekend, by the water, this cafe was buzzing with crowds, every table occupied by groups of people drinking tea or coffee and eating deserts.
